The Fourth - 2012

Eric had the day off work, and with it being the Fourth of July, we decided we needed to attempt our first real outing with Abigail (besides trips to the doctor, church, and store).  We opted not to try the super crowded beaches but instead figured we should start small. We headed to Old Town for a picnic lunch, and then walked around the shops and museums.  It was a good choice. There were lots of things going on - pie eating contests, weaving, quilting, singing, etc. Eric didn't compete this time, though he has proven in the past to be a master at pie-eating contests. :)

Abigail did really well.  She even let us do a photo shoot of her during our picnic!

What a fun day!  We ended it with our own little barbeque at home, and dutch-oven peach cobbler, eaten while watching, of course, 1776.

Looks like a fun day. And all that grass is making me jealous. Matthew loves to be outside and I wish there was more grass in this city for me to just lay him down on. Maybe we need to come to San Diego -- for the grass as well as the temperate climate!
