Abby had her 2 month round of immunization shots yesterday, poor thing...
But at least she got some fun sparkly band-aids (which surprisingly didn't male her scream when I took them off later).Another first for this week: Abby is smiling! No huge smiles yet, but we get so excited to see these tiny smiles instead of her blank stare or her face that looks more angry/annoyed than happy. We haven't caught any on camera yet, but they are sure cute!

They let her get her 2 month shots before she was 2 months? I tried to do that with Garrett just before we moved to NYC when he was 7 weeks, but they told me they couldn't because some kindergartens scrutinize the immunization schedule to a such nitpicky point that could complicate him entering school. I thought it was baloney, personally, particularly since he didn't get his 2-month appointment until he was 3.5 months because of the move and waiting for our new insurance to begin. So maybe this is a sign that at least some doctors and/or kindergartens are lightening up?
Anyway, I'm glad Abby survived her first round of shots! That's a big milestone (though it mostly seems to be a milestone for the parents). And smiling! That's also a big one (and also more meaningful to the parents who finally get a happily visible reward for the hard work of the first few months). Here's to many more smiles!
Don't smiles just melt you?! There is not a better feeling in the world than seeing your beautfiul baby who you love more than life itself smile up at you:) Just wait until she says "luv you mama"
