It's been nice spending time with family. Abby loves her cousins, and has been so excited having other kids around constantly (except when they decide they want to play with the same toys!). We also have been able to get to know Glen better, who is going to marry Eric's sister Brittany in March.
Christmas Eve we spent baking and decorating cookies. Abby has never made cookies before, or even tasted cookies or cookie dough. She didn't even realize it was something edible until she saw her uncle Neil sneak some gingerbread dough. Then she tried some and thought it was pretty amazing. Decorating was difficult because each time I handed her one to decorate, she thought I was giving her one to eat, and so got really upset each time I took it away after we decorated it. She was in heaven when I finally let her eat a small cookie.
That evening we had the traditional Anderson walk-around dinner, with lots of fun finger foods.

Abby discovered some chocolates that Brittany had received and kept trying to take some. She has never seemed to like chocolate before now, but apparently she's changed her mind!
Eric's family has a tradition of finding the pickle ornament, which is hidden somewhere in the tree. Whoever finds it gets a gift. Abby must have thought we were playing some sort of game - she kept laughing and following us around.

Sounds like it's been a fun Christmas in Texas! Wish we could have been there, too.
