Dearest Abigail,
What a fun month this has been! Filled with lots of traveling and meeting relatives and cousins. You got a new aunt at the beginning of this month when your Uncle Edward got married, and then it was off to Texas for Christmas with the Anderson side of the family. It was so fun watching you take it all in.
This month was filled with so many firsts for you. Of course, there was your very first Christmas! Not that you seemed to show any indication that it was any sort of special or different day. But you loved all that wrapping paper and, of course, loved the new toys that suddenly were in front of you.
You have really mastered sitting up by yourself this month, and rarely tip over anymore. What you are working on right now is pulling yourself up to a standing position. I've had a feeling that you were getting close to this, since when you are sitting and holding onto my fingers, you pull yourself up to stand without me really doing anything. So last night we decided to test you. We put a bin in front of you that was the right height and sat back to see what you would do. You went for it right away and there you were, standing! A little wobbly at first, but you can definitely do it!
You are quite the chatterbox. Your sound of choice seems to always be 'dadadadada' over and over. So your dad is working on getting you to realize that 'dada' means him, Dad. He's sure trying to ensure your first word will be his name! Although you may say your Dad's name first, you are sure turning into a little mamma's girl. Even when Dad is holding you, your eyes will follow me where ever I go and will get super mad if I leave the room. I think Dad gets a little sad when you don't want him to hold you so I hope you get past that soon! Though it is so cute to see how much you love your mamma.
I am absolutely loving this stage you are in. You are such a happy happy baby and so fun to play with all day. Evenings are so fun now also. It used to be that we would say that Dad only gets the worst time with you since he would get home and you would always be so fussy until bedtime. But now you are usually happy right up until you go to bed. Which is so wonderful!
Love,
Your Mamma

Gosh. She gets cuter everyday, doesn't she?
Didn't think it was possible. She was an over-the-top precious newborn.
You look great too, Kiersten. How's being a mom?
Catching up on your blog... haven't been reading any for a while now. Sounds like me and you need to talk! The first four months of Abby's life sound just like Ella's! Man it was tough. Lack of sleep, little napping, so much crying... It was great to read that 4 months was a turning point for you. That's exactly what this past month has been like for us. (She just turned 5 months). She is finally taking regular naps morning, afternoon, and sometimes a third one. We still swaddle her, but lucky for us, no more endless rocking.. we just lay her down swaddled. However, she is getting stronger and getting out of her swaddles and waking up more frequently. She's not keeping her binkie in as good now either. I'm thinking of trying some cereal at night to maybe help hold her over more. I'd love to talk more. Email? Phone? Its so comforting to hear someone else who has had a more difficult time. None of my friends can relate! :)jessica.hedgepeth at g mail dot com.
